Some big changes happening at The Furnace. Aran and Maeve are moving overseas, but don't worry we are excited to have found another local company who will continue making our maps in New Zealand. Introducing Matt and Rosie Carter and Matai Gallery. You can now shop all The Furnace artworks at www.mataigallery.nz

We consider the environment when choosing our materials. We use FSC bamboo ply made with E0 glues, eco friendly stains and glues and fsc pine frames. Our packaging is plastic free and recyclable and we minimise our waste by making smaller items from our offuts.

All of our artworks are hand crafted and finished to the highest standard. Each layer is sanded, hand painted, assembled and framed by us, right down to the tiny little details that Aran uses a pair of tweezers to stick on! Everything is designed and made in our workshop in Lyall Bay, Wellington.

Super E0 glue

Our bamboo ply is made with Super E0 glues, meaning the formaldehyde emissions are as low as you can get. We can this with our air quality meter shown above
