Dallas wanted to commission the biggest map we had ever done, so this is it! This huge map of Lakes Benmore and Aviemore is set to adorn the new family bach in Otematata. Each layer had to be assembled from 3 pieces of ply, and the lakes were set on different levels so that the mighty 100m high Benmore dam formed the centre of this imposing piece. We had to specially request the Benmore and Aviemore survey data from NIWA for this as well!. Aran loves working on these really big maps, the amount of detail that can be achieved makes them not only interesting to work on, but make for really interesting finished artworks. Unfortunately this one was rushed out the door in time for Christmas so the photos don't really do it justice!
